I have made userstylesheets for Opera, and edited Opera's UI to better access to them. How I did that explained later, at the time with other changes to the *.ini files. See my userstyle section for actual stylesheets, and more information about userstylesheets.
Changes are implied usually in comments.
I have done much. I have disabled menubar, and but menu items in that to one button on mainbar. I put most used menu items to another menu, and put that to mainbar too.
I have gotten rid of all buttons I don't use.
I made navigation button images, and made them disappear if there is no link element. Can't get rid of one pixel between the buttons trough.
The skin I use is based to Plain Grey Wrapper by Jonathan A. Irwin. I got rid of some extra space and added my own, smaller buttons. Also changed look of pagebar and panel selector etc.
I also have my pagebar set to go multible lines, addressbar holds status field and navigation buttons, JS setting, and progressbar replaces bar when needed.
I have made lots of changes to keyboard shortcuts and Mouse gestures. I have tried to imitate keys I also use on EMacs. I have changed almost all most used commands with my own. Some examples: Ctrl-s,Ctrl-s chooses between user and author mode, Ctrl-g same stuff as esc, Alt-s opens style menu...
Added and changed userstylesheets and some "&"'s to make navigation in menu easier. Example of changes:
[Local CSS Files] ... Name 13=Own &Style File 13=C:\Program Files\Opera7\style\user\oma.css ... Active 13=0
If you don't have this section in your Opera6.ini, copy it from OperaDef6.ini
Stylesheets must be at least about 300bytes since long time bug. So add lots of comments in your CSS if it don't work. You can reload stylesheet by toggling it on and of from style menu
I removed menubar, and putted 3 menues to mainbar, one that has all previous menues, one with most used menu commands, and one with links and bookmarks. Screen cap:Screen capture (800*600/54kB), 2003-05-21, 7.11
Before big cleanup on menues I moved style menu to main menu from view menu, and added item "Change styles" with which I can edit my style sheet, that was inserted to this menu in Opera6.ini. The reason I added my stylesheets here, is of course because it is easier to switch on and off. You can find some ini files that have these changes from ini directory
I Added my own resources menu, with some WWW-authoring resources, see first screencap. I will ad things to that in future too. It's easier to use than bookmarks/personal bar with keyboard. Well, bookmarks have been made easier in 7.10b, so I may not bother adding more stuff to that menu.

Large icons are small icons from standard skin of pre 7.5b1
Most icons are 8 by 10 pixels, pagebar button images are even narrower.
Skin also includes extra images for navigation bar (see first screen capture ), to use them you need to edit your toolbar.ini - see section Changes in toolbar.ini.
M2 and Chat icons, as well as some other icons appeared since 7.11 are missing. But I finally made print preview button.
